WHO FELL ASLEEP IN JESUS

MARCH 14TH 1885

BLESSED ARE THE DEAD WHICH DIE IN THE LORD

WE SING OF THE REALMS OF THE BLEST

THAT COUNTRY SO BRIGHT AND SO FAIR

AND OFT ARE ITS GLORIES CONFESSED

BUT WHAT MUST IT BE TO BE THERE

William, born in 1798, was the younger brother of Charles. He married Mary Judge in 1832, left her at the church gates and went to America. On his return, he married Elizabeth Griffin in 1870, lived at Penwick Furlong, and gave the land in 1871 to the Chapel for the creation of the graveyard.
